Matilda Lloyd trumpet; Goldmund Quartet

📍 Wigmore Hall · London

Matilda Lloyd trumpet; Goldmund Quartet
With her kaleidoscopic range of tone colours, jaw-dropping technical command and expressive artistry, Matilda Lloyd owns the rare ability to make her instrument sing. Her lunchtime programme includes song transcriptions and a thrilling translation of a JS Bach favourite into a concerto for piccolo trumpet and strings. The Goldmund Quartet applies its own charms to two works by Austrian accordionist and composer Herbert Pixner before joining Lloyd in the lyrical opening movement of Eric Ewazen’s Quintet.
