Join Arowah for a low stimulus performance as part of Wigmore Hall's Imagine Series.
Arowah seeks to embody the role of the artist as philosopher, community builder and collective healer, with their work a meditation on the social and the spiritual. They put faith in the almost mystical power of music to speak to souls and connect us with each other, heal hearts, open eyes and be a powerful force for change in the world. A previous composition resident at Wigmore Hall, they have had their compositions premiered around the world and written for the likes of BBC Concert Orchestra and National Sawdust Ensemble (USA).
Their improvised music for guitar, electronics and voice will take inspiration from jazz, classical and ambient music. It will draw from their research into music as a therapeutic medium, as well as different sound healing traditions from around the world.
The concert will benefit from natural daylight through Wigmore Hall’s frosted glass ceiling, and all other lighting in the auditorium itself will be kept low. Announcements will be kept to a minimum and there will be a quiet space in the David Wolf Kaye Room. Audiences may leave and re-enter when needed. Hand dryers in the toilets will be switched off and paper towels available instead.
Low stimulus performances may benefit some neurodivergent people and all those who prefer a quieter environment. For more information, visit wigmore-hall.org.uk/imagine-series.
