Giorgi Gigashvili piano
Piano studies were always a personal joy rather than a labour of career preparation for the young Giorgi Gigashvili. The Georgian musician has carried that uplifting, wholehearted conviction into his life as a professional pianist, earning critical plaudits from Fanfare for his debut album’s ‘tender, clear-headed, and ultimately rapturous’ performances. He returns to Wigmore Hall with a banquet of Romantic compositions, beginning with six of Chopin’s rhapsodic Nocturnes and offering a blaze of keyboard colour and virtuosity after the interval with Liszt’s dramatic, heart-on-sleeve compositions.
