ECMA Showcase: Susato Trio

Mozart fashioned the first movement of his Piano Trio K502 almost exclusively from the material of a single theme. The Susato Trio, champion of rarely heard repertoire, follows this dazzling composition with the haunting slow movement from the First Piano Trio by Barvinsky, one of the first Ukrainian composers to achieve international success, and Ravel’s Piano Trio in A minor, a work of beguiling brilliance created shortly before the outbreak of the First World War.
