Join us in collaboration with Tru Thoughts for a new midweek series bringing together DJs, selectors and live projects exploring jazz, soul, electronic and global sound 11 SEPTEMBER 2026 Kumail + Robert Luis Kumail is an R&B and soul producer, composer and vocalist from Mumbai, India, now based in Lisbon. Starting out in 2015, he quickly became a key figure in India’s electronic music scene, working across DJing and live performance. His debut album Yasmin , released on Bastard Jazz Recordings, received support from Rolling Stone, GQ, Resident Advisor, Boiler Room and others. He has opened for artists including Kamasi Washington, Four Tet, Teebs and Mount Kimbie. Robert Luis is the founder, co-owner and A&R of Tru Thoughts, the independent record label he co-founded in Brighton in 1999. He has worked with and released music from Quantic, Bonobo, Moonchild, Flowdan, Alice Russell, Hot 8 Brass Band, Tara Lily, Ebi Soda and many more. He has also DJed internationally for many years, with a style spanning beats, jazz, jungle, funk, soul, hip-hop, UK garage, reggae and drum and bass.
