Poetry, spoken word and live jazz reflect on fairness in all its forms: what shapes our sense of it, who experiences it and how to build it. Fairness: we know it when we see it. And when we don’t. The last seat on the bus. The queue jumper. The second chance. The benefit of the doubt. We don’t think about fairness all the time, but we notice when it shows up and when it doesn’t. Who gets heard? Who gets a fair shot? Who feels safe? Who gets to belong? Join Spit Nights and Amnesty International UK for an evening of poetry, spoken word and live jazz as we explore the experiences, questions and stories that shape our sense of what’s fair, and the communities we want to build. However different our lives are, perhaps this is something many of us have in common: the recognition of that moment, that little voice asking, ‘hang on a minute. How come?’
