Creative Encounters: Poetry and Ink
Play with words and stamp-making to help create a giant, collaborative visual poem in this London Literature Festival edition of Creative Encounters. Find a fresh approach to poetry with collaboration and play at its core at this workshop led by artist Sepanta Aleahmad and an exciting line-up of poets. Experiment with drawing, language and the playful possibilities of bringing them together as you’re guided through a series of creative activities. Let your imagination run free as you help create a catalogue of visual stamps that then form the building blocks for your own visual poems. Get personal on your own poems and then help craft a large-scale, collaborative poem to fill our space. No prior experience is needed, just bring your creativity. About the artist Sadegh-Sepanta Aleahmad is a London-based, Iranian-born artist exploring diasporic identity, liminality and belonging through performance, sculpture, drawing and poetry. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally at Nunnery Gallery (London), Science and Industry Museum (Manchester), University of Buenos Aires and Mediterranea 18 Young Artists Biennale. Creative Encounters is your creative space in the heart of the city, bringing together Londoners old and new for art, making and conversation.
