The singer-songwriter marks eight decades of life in a showcase of his extraordinary career, packed with greatest hits and full of his trademark energy. Alceu Valença is known for blending the folk influences of north-eastern Brazil, where he was born, with contemporary sounds to create music that has made him one of his country’s most beloved artists. His 80 Sunflowers tour arrives in London after visiting 10 Brazilian capitals, and sees Valença at the height of his artistry. It features the hits that have made him a legend – including ‘Anunciação’, ‘Belle de Jour’ and ‘Tropicana’ – while tracing his artistic journey from the very beginning to the present day. Valença is accompanied by Tovinho (keyboards, musical direction), Cássio Cunha (drums), Zi Ferreira (guitar), Nando Barreto (bass), André Julião (accordion) and Costinha (flutes), with special guests Lui Coimbra (cello) and Natália Mitre (percussion).
