Paris is regarded through the prism of its architecture that has drawn on foreign inspiration. And in Un dessert pour Constance, which acknowledges the culinary prowess of French cuisine, comedy combats racist stereotypes and nationalist ideas via a portrait of the daily lives of African migrants in Paris, who mobilise to allow one of their own to return home to die.
