He would have liked to paint landscapes, but cannot detach himself from his history, and reproduces the world revolutions. Leningrad Hospital, highlighting Sarah Maldoror’s denunciation of political imprisonment – a key element of her work – adheres to Russian writer Victor Serge’s text as it denounces the psychiatric hospitals that Stalin’s state police placed the leader’s opponents.
